Photoshoot -- POSE!
. . . What do I do with my hands? How do I stand?
It's awkward to get your photos taken and choosing a pose does not help. Here are some ideas for your next shoot.
Sitting. On the floor, perched on something, on a step. All good ideas and depending on the angle and vibe, you can get very creative with sitting shots.
Grab a Prop. A pie, a train, a plant, a cup of coffee, a flower, even your own hat can be something you hold in your hand(s) or lean on or sit on that can alleviate the "where do I put my hands" issue.
Hand in your Hair. Classic. If you have short or long hair, you can put your fingers through it or pretend to if you have hair like mine. Simple.
Hands up/Hands behind/Peace signs. When in doubt, this one always makes posing simple and gets a good smile out of the subject.
Detail Shots. The easiest way to know how to ready your face, hands, arms, feet and all the other appendages in a photo is to focus only on a part of the photo that may or may not include those body parts. When you focus on a dress, nails, hair, etc. it can take some of the pressure off of the other parts.
