Lyons, Colorado is a tiny mountain town with less than three thousand residents. It sits just west of Longmont, north of Boulder, south of Estes Park and east of Allenspark. The scenery is perfect and the vibes are always on point. I've shot here dozens of times. Here are my favorite locations:

My #1 recommendation for a cute place for photos is the Colorado Cherry Company. The inside is set up with adorable table clothes and a fun vintage-esque ice cream counter. There are precious pies and other snacks that are perfect for props . . . and then eating!

St. Vrain Creek runs right along Lyons and most of the city touches its shores at some point. This creek is perfect for backgrounds from Spring to Winter -- if you can handle the lower temps and higher altitude.

Downtown Lyons has so many cute buildings that make a fun and urban backdrop for photos. Each building, shop and church has its own character. Even their supermarket is full of pizzazz (and delicious, natural and local food and drink options)!

LaVern M. Johnson Park has everything you could ever need, including great places to take photos! Playgrounds, splash pads, picnic areas, tubing, cornhole . . . literally anything. I love taking my kids there in the summer to cool off and get great shots while they spalsh around!

The Lyons Dairy Bar is the funnest place of all time. You definitely need to bring your kids and yourself in. They have ice cream, vintage candy and a fun atmosphere. you can get a scoop of ice cream while you wait. It's worth it -- I promise!

Off the beaten path on the way to and from Lyons you can find any number of fabulous places to pull off and get great shots of our beautiful Rocky Mountains. No matter the season, you are sure to get your money's worth!
